We read about this encounter in Ed from Grizzly Bear's Rolling Stone Coachella live blog and giggled to ourselves. Then we got a copy of this picture in our email this afternoon from our spy over at Sub Pop and pissed our pants laughing (btw, make sure you check out that Pissed Jeans album they're putting out later this year). It was true!

Remember when MTV2 did that 24 Hours of Love stunt in like 2002? Yeah, your kind blogger worked the 2AM-10AM shift of that special evening and has seen Courtney Love's boobs more than her own. She's scary at 4AM but we think she just may be scarier at 4PM.
Since we couldn't get to Coachella ourselves (again!) this year, we issued a dare to some of our favorite bands to go forth, meet as many other bands & celebs as they could find and send us photo proof. Only one band (so far) were up to the challenge: the mighty Fields!
The most Brit/partly Icelandic group were kind enough to take a digital camera around with them on Saturday and play a game of spot the celebrity (er, indie rock style) and give us a bands-eye view of what goes on in the V.I.P. areas. And most importantly what the view from the stage looks like!

"Colin from The Decemberists made out day on two counts. first off he lent us some equipment that we had left in the UK by accident and secondly he told us that that we were 'an awesome band'. He is a top man and fits right in to Team Fields."
More photos of encounters with Klaxons, PB&J, Kelly Osbourne, an Arctic Monkey and cute moments of their first time in the V.I.P. all after the jump. Read more...
This Sunday night/Monday morning (1AM EST on MTV2) will be the all female edition of Subterranean. It will be your first chance to see Bjork's "Earth Intruders" on TV (we figure you probably caught the YouTube leak last weekend, but if not then you'll really want to tune in). It will also be the TV debut of Tori Amos's personally created "Big Wheel" video.
We'll feature videos you've seen from some of our favorite female artists like Feist, Marnie Stern, CSS as well as new videos from Lady Sov & Nicole Atkins.
We're going to throw on Charlotte Gainsbourg as well, who has created one of Subterranean's most beloved albums for 2007 - but we are going through a bit of a Francophile period. We've snagged a bit of the video series below from Vice & iFilm on the making of her album - for more clips check iFilm.
As Subterranean viewers we take it for granted that you love Joy Division.
Our pal The Playlist reports extensively on the soon to be released Anton Corbijn-helmed movie (you know him from his work directing most of Depeche Mode videos, the one cool Killers video, U2, Nirvana, Joseph Arthur and more) as well as the incestious six degrees of seperation surrounding almost everyone involved in the project.
The downer: the first leaked track is a Joy Division cover done by the Killers.
The upper: New Order are scoring the film soundtrack, with both new songs and re-recorded Joy Division tracks.
The downer: Peter Hook is reportedly pissed at Corbijn's "control" over the soundtrack.
The upper(?): Tony Wilson is producing the film.
We're creating the grid for bets on when this goes to hell in a handbasket.
Here's a fun video for your Friday viewing pleasure from Bonde do Role, who we mentioned in our SXSW weirdness wrap-up.
The Bondes opened up for the Klaxons for a bit of their most recent U.S. tour and the guys weren't shy about telling us how amazing they think the Bonde live show is. Check out the infectious beats from this Brazilian group, who got a little help from Diplo.
For those of you gearing up to see them tonight at Coachella, our inside reports indicate you should be glad they scheduled a warm-up secret show. Word is that William Reid got off to a rough start. No Scarlett Johansson signing, but Annie from Giant Drag joined them to sing "Just Like Honey".

UPDATE: A press release went around late yesterday announcing that this record will be released by ATO on July 10 in the U.S. The Subterranean excitement meter hit the roof.
NME reports (we know, total oxymoron) that a new Crowded House album, including a song written by Johnny Marr, is due in July.
Here's the mystery: we checked in with EMI US and they say the album is not listed on any release schedules. So, who is putting out this alleged Crowded House album - in either the UK or the US? Will it even remotely come out in this US or is this some sort of New Zealand only release? Thanks for nothing, NME.
Gracias, MTV Canada! Our generous neighbors to the north today bring you another MTV Live clip from Jamie Lidell. Enjoy "Multiply".
We're all jazzed up with visions of the Jesus And Mary Chain dancing in our head. All the LA "secret show", Coachella date (ScarJo rumors) and NY tickets going on sale shortly have insured they're the only band we've talked about for the last two days.
Thought we'd put them in your brain too, here's "April Skies".
Quick poll: who consistantly made worse videos, the JAMC or Erasure?
If you're not one of those crazy stalker fans who goes to Interpol's website all the time then you probably read it on Pitchfork like the rest of us: Interpol may or may not have announced their July album release date.
If that got you all excited and ready to know more...too bad. The band haven't released any further details. However, we're thrilled to bring you this live performance of "Evil" off the last Interpol album.
