We love Talk Talk. No, I mean we love them. We were only five when this song came out and, sadly, already too preoccupied with Duran Duran’s “Hungry Like the Wolf” video to notice this one (chalk it up to weird parents), but given a cooler record collection to play with as children we like to think we would have picked Talk Talk over the double D’s in the new wave battle to the death.
We were seduced by the pretty boys and their animalistic video. We just weren’t ready yet at that tender age for this bleak city scape/bizarre 80s hipster party of a video and the, er, quirky looking Englishmen starring in it.
We’re ready now.
