Subterranean is proud to bring you the new Dntel video for “The Distance”.
The video was done by director Adam Bizanski with his signature paper mache puppets on dark backgrounds. You know Adam’s work from Wolf Parade “Modern World”, Zero 7 “Left Behind”, The Shins “Pink Bullets” and Guster“Satellite”.
The song offer a tropical vibe, to Subterranean’s senses, on emotional alienation while the visuals of the video, like so much of Bizanski’s work, focuses mainly on expressing the latter. We haven’t seen a lot of artists mixing those two things together in electronic music - the only thing we can think of that may even come marginally close would be New Order’s Technique, but even then we’re reaching.
