We are so pleased to bring you Of Montreal's latest video, "Suffer For Fashion".
It was directed by Norwegian director, clothing designer and possibly Renaissance woman Sigrid Astrup. Her directorial resume mostly includes Scandinavian bands we've never heard of like ENTAKT, Surfact, Sidste Ambulance & Snake and Jet. We'll be Googling those all day.
The video is a visual collage, literally, being made and re-made as you watch with some treated live performance shots sprinkled in, featuring the Kevin Barnes (by way of Prince) trademark ruffled blouse. Enjoy another sparkly pop track from the guy in Of Montreal.
UPDATE: Our links seem to be MIA, so if you'd like a permalink to this article grab it here.
We're way obsessed with the Shout Out Louds' new album. It may be the best new album from The Cure we've heard since Wish. We've seen interviews between this band and American journalists go down, so we're know they aren't necessarily fluent in English but you'd never guess from their lyrics.
We are absolutely chomping at the bit to start playing their video for "Tonight I Have To Leave It." You'll have to make due with some linkage until the paperwork gets sorted out.
First of all: M.I.A.'s new look in the "Boyz" video? Neneh Cherry circa "Buffalo Stance", right? So awesome.
Watch the video here, see a behind the scenes on the set at iFilm and vote for her to win in the next MTV Battle of the Videos - she's up against Muse (also awesome) and The Academy Is.
After the jump we included the Neneh Cherry video for some compare and contrast.
Word in our email inbox is that there'll be a new Cold War Kids video very shortly for "Hospital Beds". We asked in our nicest voice and they agreed to let us show you a couple of stills from the video.
Can we all come together, hold hands and agree that "Hey Jude" is Paul McCartney's best song (or at least top 5)? While somepeople are spending their time interviewing the King of Starbucks, we were way more interested in reading about how Sean and Julian Lennon are on speaking terms again.
I guess the fueding started with some comments in a newspaper regarding the Onos, but does anyone else remember the legendary Behind the Music apperance when Julian says, "Yoko Ono is raping the Lennon name,"? Classic. We are officially impressed with Sean's capacity to forgive and forget. If you can date Bijou Phillips you can live through anything.
