Virtual Lower East Side is having a big one to celebrate the release of This Is Next and, to quote the Dismemberment Plan, you are invited (and also “It’s So You”). VLES is a photo-releastic virtual world that recreates NYC’s Lower East Side. This particular party is going down in the virtual Bowery Ballroom and will include an in-world appearance by members of Of Montreal (your avatar can talk to them, dance with them, vomit on them…yes, seriously) as well as a real concert by the Cold War Kids. Plus tons of video blocks, including one curated by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and one done by MTV2 Subterranean.
VLES is in limited alpha testing only right now so if you wanna be one of the few hit up our shortcut between now and Thursday and get yourself registered. The world is currently only open after 6PM - now go play with your avatar.
