I Won A VMA, You Know.

Here’s some interesting gossip-y news from Subterranean’s VMA weekend: show of hands, who knew that Mark Ronson’s bass player is also the original bassist from Jamiroquai?

His name is Stuart Zender and, after leaving Jamiroquai, he went on to play bass on amazing albums like The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and remixing a Gorillaz track. He was also a longtime consort to Melanie Blatt of All Saints (which we find endlessly fascinating).

Mr. Zender introduced himself by proclaiming that he had won a VMA in 1997. When asked where he keeps it, he looked at us strangely and said, “In my house.” That’s funny, because if we had a VMA we’d keep it in our pants.
