As you may have read yesterday, our poor beleagured Chris Walla (is it officially unnecessary to say “of Death Cab” yet?) had the drives with his solo album on them taken away at the Canadian border by Homeland Security.
Other items of note about this story:
1) Walla’s solo album was formally scheduled for release by Barsuk in January…of 2007. He got distracted with producing Tegan & Sara’s new album The Con instead (read their blog about it). And then got distracted by producing the new Nada Surf record - and you can get yourself a free download off that forthcoming album from the Barsuk website.
2) Walla’s first lyric writing for DCFC appeared on Plans - he penned “Brothers on a Hotel Bed”. Upon getting the album it immediately became our second favorite track from Plans, hence we’ve been desperatly waiting since late 2006 to hear when his solo album would finally be released.
3) Chris Walla is clearly a threat to America, as his PETA2 campaign attests. Just kidding.
