We saw the Vampire Weekend sharts (yeah that’s what they call them and it means “short art”, no matter what other hideous images may immediately come to mind) in last night’s Subterranean for the first time along with you the viewer. Prettiest sharts ever - butterfly graphics? Clearly someone in our on-air promos department wants to have Vampire Weekend’s babies and make sweet African-tribal-by-way-of-Talking-Heads-music with them.
Vampire Weekend kinda looked like they needed to lay down and take a nap though. Note to self: never make a band come in at 10AM. Always bad, never pretty.
Note to viewers: this is the final week of voting for the best videos of 2007. Really. If we were you we’d get your votes in on Monday and Tuesday. Our countdown will air on MTV2 this coming Sunday and there’ll be a special extended version with the top 15 or so on MTV Hits the week of 12/17.
