There is no way you’ve forgotten ”Luka” - it’s one of the most powerful and depressing songs from the 80s. One listen puts images from the disarming song about child abuse in your head forever. We are willing to bet, however, that trying to conjure a memory of what the video looks like will leave you blank.
Suzanne Vega has revealed that there was a real Luka - he was one of the children who lived in her apartment building. The real Luka wasn’t an abused child, but was a bit of an outsider who caught Vega’s eye.
Interesting current day sidenote - Vega was the first artist to perform in virtual world Second Life. We are the nerds who find that interesting.
