Around these parts we’re big fans of “Juno” and since it’s been a top selling album on the charts for the last few weeks we’re guessing you are too. So we are very pleased to bring you the official music video for “Anyone Else But You” from the venerable film, as performed by stars Ellen Page and Michael Cera.
For those of you not already aware of the full backstory, this song along with many others from the film were written by The Moldy Peaches and Kimya Dawson. They were a freak folk band from New York and this particular song can be found as performed by them on their self-titled 2001 album. They’ve sense gone on an indefininte hiatus and the other Moldy Peach, Adam Green, has released a few tidbits of solo material - including a most interesting ode to Jessica Simpson.
Do note that, if you don’t have it already, the version of “Anyone Else But You” from this video is available on the “Juno” soundtrack.
At the suggestion of Ellen Page, the Moldy Peaches were made Juno’s signature music. More to come on “Juno” and the Sonic Youth connection from us next week. For now, enjoy the video.
