We’re probably supposed to call them The London Suede due to copyright issues but that’s stupid. They’re Suede.

This song is from Suede’s somewhat challeneged second album Dogmanstar (note the absence of Bernard Butler who ran out/was kicked out before the album was finished) and possibly marks the most drugged out moment of Brett Anderson’s life. The video is equally overdone and grandiose, but my goodness that’s some excellent cinematography. It was directed by Howard Greenhalgh, whose work you’ll also recognize from Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun”, Diddy’s “Come With Me” Zeppelin-riff nightmare track, Placebo’s “Nancy Boy”, Sting’s “When We Dance” and a whole string of Pet Shop Boys videos.

We know indulgences like this video play a big role in Suede’s downfall, but we’ll watch it anyway because Anderson is simply too dreamy to turn away from.
