Yes, we just punned a 2 Live Crew song title. Anyway, for your edification, the Gnarls Barkley “Run” music video has not been banned or in any way edited for MTV in the U.S.
MTV UK did request the band make edits so it was suitable for air in relation to the Harding Test, which disallows the airing of strobe effects that may cause epileptic seizures.
However, the unedited version of the Gnarls video has been posted on MTV.com since you read about it here last Friday, will air in TRL tomorrow and goes into rotation on MTV proper next week.
MTV UK will also begin airing the video, with requested edits, next week. Apparently Billboard.com have also amended their original story to reflect it’s relevance to MTV UK only.
