Our stealth SXSW reporters (aka the poor bastards at mtvU who we called in to help us) were too busy partying after they finished working yesterday to email us their photos until this morning.
These are not your average live performance photos from SXSW (ed: Ok, maybe they are.). The mtvU folks are shooting another round of promo spots to air this spring and next fall where musicians play a 30 second piece that expresses an emotion - it can be a completely original song, a track you’ve heard a million times, an instrumental accoustic or, judging by the photo of Black Moth Super Rainbow, a full on raging party. mtvU gave the artists a blank warehouse background and told them to do their worst.
You’ll see the spots roll out next month but for now here are some teaser photos, all credited to Paul Logan.
You know there’s more after the jump.
