"Kids" is totally the jam. So's "Electric Feet". And "Time to Pretend". Damn, we just love the whole MGMT album.

Check out mtvU's Backstage Pass interview with the guys. We like the part where they wrote a mission statement about their "creative vision" when they met with major labels. You know, after realizing they had no real "creative vision".

We are all about Norway lately. So to continue that trend we have to blog about Bergen band Ungdomskulen. We feel these lines from their website sum them up most succinctly:

"In 2000 three young gentlemen took the first steps into what we now know as ungdomskulen. Cause in addition to their affection for life, they all love music. They´ve been playing together in various constelations since they all went to school together in 99. In 2004 they decided to rock together on a regular and serious basis, and so they did."

Enjoy their animated monster video for "Modern Drummer".

Guess who'll be our guest on Subterranean this weekend? Oh wait, we put it in the headline already.

Tune in Sunday night for some sweet, sweet Santi face time plus music videos.

In the meantime, check out this Backstage Pass interview mtvU shot with her.

Another class week on MTV - Gnarls Barkley will pop on the screen in between episodes of The Hills and The Paper (wait, we're actually liking that one a lot) to serenade you and introduce you to some of their furry friends.

Word on the street is the Gnarls guys were so into how the perfomances with just the two of them for this shoot went that they're exploring doing a small, intimate tour in the same style. Perhaps minus the furries.

You saw it on Subterranean last night (probably) and now you can see it on demand all you want, thanks to the Internets. It'll also be premeiring all day today on MTV2 and mtvU.

Get more background info on the vid from our previous On The Set With.

Big round of applause - you guys did a great job of programming Subterranean for us last night. See the playlist (minus a few last minute vids our crack team are still encoding) plus the SubT staff's bonus request list on MTV.com.

If your request didn't get played it was probably on a foreign label we couldn't track down - gosh there were a lot of those we wanted to play too - or one of the few who couldn't turn the tapes/edits around quickly enough for us. Programming this episode went down to the last minute. On Friday afternoon we were yelling at receptionists and calling the mailroom every five minutes to see if those straggling tapes had gotten here!

One quick error - that chyron on The Knux was supposed to be on The Dodos' video but we had to do a little switch-a-roo when the latter didn't come in this week. Haha...oopsie.

At any rate, see the other videos our wonderful viewers requested which didn't make it to air on our MySpace page. One we are super in love with and absolutely dying to air is Lykke Li's "A Little Bit". Embedded below for maximum butt shaking enjoyment.

You requested so many great videos and we only managed to track down 10 of them. So we hope you like what we've got cooking at your request!

Everyone we could track down to get these videos worked their buns off to get them through the rigirous MTV submission process so we send them a big kissy thank you as well. A few people didn't want to deal with the hassle (and it is a hell of a lot of hassle, especially if you're in a non-U.S. country) but they send you their best and a big fat "ty for thinking of us!"

Also, drumsnotdead? You know we got you.

And Matthew, we wish we could play you Noah & the Whale already cos we're totes in love with it but they're in the process of sorting out their U.S. label situation and blah blah blah. Anywho, watch one of their videos here instead.

Good news TPC fans - their next video for "In A Cave" will be coming out in May. It was made by a student from the University of Memphis, Olan Rogers, in conjunction with mtvU's Breaking the Video program. They shot in Memphis and, while we know the particulars of the video's plot, we think it'll be more fun to make you wait it out and see.

However, we have a few shots from the set that don't give away too much so we'll share.

The mtvUers have posted a Backstage Pass interview that's really fantastic (no, like really) of Santogold. Her music is awesome, we already knew, but we didn't know she was so well spoken and smart. Now we do.

Make sure you check for Santogold's new video on Subterranean this Sunday. Along with all the other videos you requested that we could stick in a bag and run off with.

More love for L.A. today - we're asking you to put your eyeballs on The Autumns video for "Boys". Subterranean met The Autumns many years ago in a hotel room at SXSW. They had recently signed to the legendary Bella Union label in the UK along with this band we loved called Lift To Experience. They had very different haircuts then.

Many drinks and many years later more than just their haircuts have changed. Their songs were always a bit unstructured and this one seems to be in a wildly different key than we remember hearing from singer Matthew Kelly.
