There is not a more perfect time for Canadian band The Dears to return with this particular song. The chorus of “Money Babies” is a sing-song repetition of the phrase “our money is elastic” and the visuals are a junkyard wasteland where money is burned as paper fuel and people act like animals. In the end one character escapes through an impenetrable border into a suburban paradise.

Whatever you see in it, director Anton Josef has painted a bleak picture that is especially compelling with the state of the current world economic market.
